Fork a rabbit hole#

A fork continues someone else's rabbit hole from any point on its Trail, as a rabbit hole of your own.

  1. Select Fork under a rabbit hole, or select a step on its Trail and choose Fork from here.
  2. Under Where to continue from, pick the step to start from: where it started, where it ended, or anywhere in between.
  3. The composer opens with that step as the start of your Trail. Add where you went next, and post.

Credit and lineage#

Forks always keep their origin. Your fork shows Forked from the original author's rabbit hole, and the original shows who continued it, from where, and what it became.

Credit is part of how White Rabbit works. Don't copy someone's Trail into a new rabbit hole to avoid the link back. See the Community Guidelines for more.

Pass it on with Rabbit Relay#

Rabbit Relay hands a rabbit hole to a friend from the step you reached, with a note, as if to say: I found something interesting and want you to continue it.

  1. Select a step on the Trail and choose Pass this on.
  2. Under Who should take it deeper?, choose someone, and add a note if you like.
  3. Select Pass this rabbit hole. It arrives in their Messages, with a way to take it deeper, and as a push, or in the email when they've been away, if they've turned those on.

When someone passes one to you#

Open the relay in Messages and select Take it deeper. The composer opens where they left off. When you post, the rabbit hole shows who passed it along, so the whole chain gets credit.
