Who can see what#

Every rabbit hole has one of four visibility settings. You pick it when you post.

SettingWho can see it
PublicAnyone on White Rabbit, even without an account. It can appear in Discover, Following, Explore, search, and topics.
FollowersPeople who follow you.
Close friendsOnly people on your close friends list.
Only meJust you. A private note to yourself.

Rabbit holes that aren't public show a small icon next to their time, so you always know who can see them. Only public rabbit holes count toward trends, topics, and community answers.

Set your default#

In Settings, under Privacy, choose who New rabbit holes are visible to. You can still change it for any single rabbit hole when you post.

Share a rabbit hole#

Select Share under a rabbit hole to:

  • Copy the link. Anyone who opens it still needs permission to see the rabbit hole. Links you copy while signed in end with your username, so if someone makes an account from one, they can choose to follow you as they set up, and you're told they joined only if they do.
  • Send it to a person or into a discussion, with an optional note. It arrives in Messages. Sent to a person, it also comes as a push, or in the email when they've been away, if they've turned those on; sent into a discussion, it counts as a new message there.

To hand someone a rabbit hole so they can take it further, use Rabbit Relay instead.

After you post#

You can delete any rabbit hole you posted. Deleting removes it for everyone. If people forked it before you deleted it, their forks stay theirs. See Forks and Rabbit Relay.
