Group B rally, the era with almost no rules
Light cars, turbo power in the hundreds of horsepower, and spectators standing in the road, parting at the last second. The footage is thrilling and also genuinely uncomfortable to watch now.

What I came away with
Group B ran in the World Rally Championship from 1982 to 1986. After a run of serious accidents in 1986, including a crash into spectators in Portugal and the deaths of Henri Toivonen and his co-driver Sergio Cresto in Corsica, the FIA ended it. Its planned successor, Group S, was scrapped too.
