The Trail

  1. “what is the dial up modem sound” (google.com)
  2. The sound of the dialup, pictured (windytan.com)

an annotated spectrogram of the whole handshake. this is the one

  3. Modem (en.wikipedia.org)
  4. Dial-up Internet access (en.wikipedia.org)
  5. Acoustic coupler (en.wikipedia.org)
